This is THE "holy grail" of MONSTER centipedes. It is considered to be the largest centipede on earth. It averages 10", but authentic reports of 12"-13" lengths have been documented and there are some reports of the species reaching 16" in select populations.

Many pede hobbyists have concluded that there are four color morphs:

"
Black form" -  This pede was imported from 1995 to 1996 from Trinidad and not seen since. It has also been confirmed on Isle of Margarita, Curacao, NW Venezuela  and a report from central Guyana.

"Orange-legged morph" - imported from Peru in the late 1990s and sold in error as "Scolopendra gigantea robusta". A small shipment of juveniles were imported from Germany in 2004.

"White-legged morph" - imported from Peru in the late 1990s. A small shipment of juveniles were imported from Germany in 2004.

"Yellow-legged morph" - Known from Venezuela, Aruba and Colombia. Possibly imported in the early 1990s, but that is not 100% known.

• These are one of the rarest centipede species in the hobby. There is an opportunity for us to make these available.  We have supplied this species to the hobby between '96 and 2000 and again in 2004 and in 2011.  We expect limited numbers of the white-legged morph in the near future from a select import.
